ICONA 70: A New Take on the High-Speed Yacht

The ICONA 70 concept was born from the understanding that evolution alone is no longer enough. This is not a development of a familiar technical platform but a radically different interpretation of a high-speed yacht in the sub-24-metre segment. The project "ICONA inspired by Mangusta" is backed by Effebi New Project, a company founded by the Balducci family and Stefano Arlunno. The brand's first model, built to Overmarine Group standards, debuted at the Cannes show. At its core is the idea that a modern yacht can be built around emotions, individuality and purity of form. By character, the ICONA 70 is closer to a supercar than to a traditional yacht: concise, expressive and yet devoid of visual aggression.

Every line as an expression of character

Igor Lobanov's design consistently develops this idea, unifying exterior, interior and ergonomics. Sculptural shapes, monolithic side surfaces, a dark glazed superstructure and a tapering hardtop create a cohesive, dynamic image. The windshield without traditional pillars evokes a fighter jet canopy, while the honeycomb air intake becomes an expressive quote from the automotive world. At the same time, technical elements, including the anchor niche and the side tender compartment, remain virtually invisible, dissolving into the hull architecture.

The same logic works inside. The interior space of the ICONA 70 is organized around a central living corridor that begins at the stern platform, runs through the cockpit and continues into a bright glass capsule. On the lower deck, large skylights connect the interior with the sea and sky, while three spacious cabins receive natural light through continuous side glazing. Despite its compact dimensions, the yacht features significant volumes: cabin headroom reaches 2.10 metres, and the main salon ceiling height is 2.85 metres with a hull width of 6.2 metres.

The stern is the starting point of the entire concept. Two folding bulwarks form a 9-metre-wide, 40 m² platform above the water. Throughout the day, it easily shifts its usage scenario, transforming from an open social zone into a private lounge. Two sculptural elements styled after vintage guitar amplifiers conceal the galley and DJ station, while an integrated transformer staircase leads directly into the water, creating a seamless connection with the sea.

Control on the water, freedom in the details

The helm station continues the automotive theme and is set up as a driver's cockpit: four integrated 19-inch displays, four seats and a sculptural panel free of unnecessary buttons. Intuitive maneuvering is handled by a joystick, a dynamic positioning system and a docking assistant. The technical foundation consists of a composite hull and three Volvo Penta IPS engines, each delivering 1,000 hp. They provide a cruising speed of approximately 30 knots, a top speed of up to 36 knots and a range of about 270 nautical miles.

The model is designed for those who value individuality. The customization program allows the owner not only to choose from a list of options, but to create their own unique yacht together with the design team. The ICONA 70 has already been awarded the World Yachts Trophies 2026 for Best Exterior Design.
